Daily Inspiration #36 by Francois Regis Durand

Ok, are you guys ready for a treat? This is some amazing photography and I remember seeing some of this work last year but when this one flowed in to my submission inbox I HAD to post it. This image was shot by Francois Regis Durand and you can see his website with much more of his amazing work HERE. I love his work. Stunning. Here is one of my favorite shots:

This image with catch in Madagascar, in the center of the island, a small school in the bush, it was the hour of the interrogation. CANON EOS 5D 1/10s at f/2,8, iso 400, 24mm (EF 24-70 f/2,8 l USM) 27 nov 07 10: 05 : 25

  1. Francois,

The girl’s portrait by the blackboard and the man looking for sapphires are simply stunning.
    Fantastic!

kind regards and admiration from Chris

  2. Thank you with all for your compliments,
I am sorry of my English, I ask you for forgiveness.
A small interview… The proposal of Damian is very sympathetic .
But you must ask Steve huff 🙂
My English is too bad to explain you as that what I do under photoshop, but it is very simple, because I know there almost nothing.
Still thank you with you all.
Merci à tous pour votre chaleur et vos encouragement,
    à bientôt
    Régis 😀

  3. Incredible pictures and the PP work really adds mood to the pictures. What do you think the chances of having Francois as the next interviewee are? Would be great to learn how he does it.

  4. Amazing eyes, is looking a bit HDR which is something i love anyways, either way incredible and the tones and textures really top it all off.

  5. Wow, I got amazed by his work, as Elaine, I would also love to better know about his workflow technic, and how does the first shots look like and change through the process.
Really an inspiring work to me… Congratulations.

  6. Any chance of print sales from Mr. Durand? His site is amazing, but I don’t see a contact me link….I’d love to purchase a couple of his prints!

  7. I wonder what he does in PP. It almost looks like a HDR photo. Beautiful work. Surreal. Reminds me of Normal Rockwell paintings.

  8. incredible compositions, passionate connection to his subject and environment. but for me the photoshop work (assuming he is using photoshop) is generally too heavyhanded – it’s pushing me away from the true emotion/soul of these otherwise wonderful photographs.
