Introducing the Leica M9 Worldwide Image Database

Ok, I am trying out an experiment and it may succeed and it may flop! Today I have just launched the “Leica M9 Worldwide Image Database” where YOU can upload your M9 photos direct from this site. What I am trying to do here is create a page that will feature a “database” of M9 images submitted from around the world. If you shoot with a Leica M9 you can upload up to five images to the database. You will be able to overlay a caption as well so you can put your name, lens used, or whatever.

My hope is that after some time the page will grow into a huge collection of Leica M9 images for everyone to enjoy! I just launched the page so there may be bugs. If it gets too buggy or problematic I may remove it but let’s see how it goes. If you shoot with an M9 you can submit your images starting right now!

Also, if this works out and goes smoothly I plan on putting up one of these for the M8 as well as m4/3 cameras and possibly one for every camera that gets reviewed here! Think of this as the “beta test”. You can access this new page below, or at the top navigation bar which has been re-arranged today 🙂

CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE M9 IMAGE DATABASE PAGE AND SUBMIT AN IMAGE!

There are rules, so be sure to read them before you upload an image!

  1. May I suggest also A “M” database, for all other film Leica cameras? Or would that be too much?

I love your idea. I think it’s cool. I’m happy for your success on this website, Steve. I love reading your site everyday!

Wish I had my M9 to shoot with. Still waiting. And waiting. Ugh!

  2. Really good idea Steve, well done!

You know, what I really like about your site is that it is so proactive and that’s down to you and your positive and encouraging attitude towards it, so many photography sites/forums out there attract such a negative & critical bunch of people that just seem to slate everyone and everything but your site is such a welcome total opposite to these where *all* are made welcome and all are encouraged to contribute.

Like others I hope it’s a great success and you can then cater for us M8.8.2 users. Keep up the great work Steve! 🙂

  3. Finally!!! A sweet idea and one which is sorely needed. Can’t wait to contribute once my M9 is firmly in my grasp!

  4. Great idea. Participated with some pictures (received my M9 last week). I am not sure whether or not the exif data survived uploading.

  5. first upload finished. now i’m not only an enthusiastic reader but a stevehuffphoto.com groupie.

  6. Oh great, an album for the M9 snobs :0

Look forward to a similar opportunity for us less fortunate, fixed income M8/8.2 owners.

In all seriousness Steve, this is a neat plan and I hope it works.

  7. What a fantastic idea, Steve. Hope it works well for all. I’m already inspired and I don’t have my M9 yet.
    What a great web site!!!!

  8. BTW, if anyone tries to upload an image (read the rules!) and you have an issue, leave a comment here. This is pretty much like a “beta test” so it may crash, it may fail and it may not work at all! I tested it and it seemed to work OK.

If this is a success I plan on doing this for the micro 4/3 cams as well as the M8! It’s all about getting inspired 🙂
