Hi Steve-

How about a D700 24/1.4 vs M9 24/1.4 comparison, could it be possible?
I would like to see what is missing on th Nikon option, in other words, how to see that Leica glow...

Thanks, I follow you blog daily.
Keep on it, is great.

I've been shooting ( http://bit.ly/dkb8ar ) my D300 with a Sigma 30mm F1.4 for a year (or so) now - and I'm LOVING it, it's a nice (relatively) affordable lens... I've been contemplating an upgrade to a D700x (when and if it arrives!) but then the Sigma won't cut it as it's a DX lens.

I'd love to see a "crazy comparison" between a DX camera with the Sigma 30mm f1.4 and a FX camera with the new Nikon 24 f1.4.

Hey Roger,

You can see everything I own in the "My Gear" page. I do not own any DSLR's as I find them too large. My son has a D3000, and my wife the E-P2 but that's about it!

In my quest to slow down my picture taking ligthen up and simplify, I looked into the Canon 24 F1.4. The lense is 650g the Nikon is 620 same 77mm filter size...Huge. This is why the Dslr is going and the 8.2 is coming with a cron 35... Light, simple and it gives me the chance to buy a lense a year. When the quiver is complte it Will be time to invest in a Ff body (m10?)...SLR gear is just top big

I thougth Canon already has the 24mm f/1.4 lens. Not sure what is the difference between the new Nikon lens and the 24L II. Pricewise, the Nikon is about double of the Canon lens.

Love it. But it is HUGE !

I find myself liking Leica more and more these days. I'm not a pro sports photographer , paparazzi or news journo..

These days, small, light and unobtrusive is what tempts me.

Good to see Nikon finally releasing a new wide angle prime. I've been shooting weddings with a 28mm 2.8, so this will be my next purchase!
