  1. Thanks Emily! I just posted it again. Also, they have the 50 Noctilux in stock again for those who are feeling like spending some money today 🙂

  2. I got lucky and scored a brand new black 50mm ‘lux asph with 6-bit encoding a couple of weeks ago for $3200 shipped. After deciding on this particular lens for my M9, I called several dealers listed on the Leica website and of course none of them had any in stock and were saying that they are on a huge back-order with lots of people waiting. That was until I called a small Leica dealer in Cleveland who said they’ve had one sitting on the shelf for a long time. They even offered it to me at a discount to persuade me to buy it and finally get it off their inventory. Little did they know there was no persuading needed. I was surprised nobody got to it until I did since it’s apparently in high demand and I thought it was too good to be true until I received it. The serial number indicated it was made in 2007 meaning it really had been sitting around yet was never opened, touched, or even unpacked as evident with the pristine wrapping and packaging. Warranty card and manual untouched as well.

Moral of the story: Call every small Leica dealer in the country and kindly ask them to check their shelves. You might get lucky too.
