NEX Up…Sony starts shipping the NEX-7. Steve, if I am reading between the blurry lines above, you have to send the NEX -7 and 50/23 Zeiss back soon. Do you still have your pre-order for one?
Best,
Ashwin
I’ve been waiting for your review on 50 1.8!! I’m so excited 🙂
Thanks! This is really great news!
Now with the new Tamron 18-200mm VC III (yeah, a whole new Tamron series for the NEX!), the SLRmagic 23mm 1.7 and your review of the 50mm, this week is actually one of the best weeks for the NEX system this year. 🙂
Im really thrilled with the oss on the lens, looks like we may have a great review coming up..
Do you think Sony can update the NEX-7 to get rid of the noise? It seems silly having a lower megapixel camera with better image quality. Will they also make some type of digital zoom settings for the camera. I’m thinking about the body but just with a pancake lens. It would be great if I could just turn down the res and use the extra megapixels to zoom in or out.
You could just take the picture and then crop whatever portion of the picture you would like to use 🙂 This is the original digital zoom
Can you ask Sony to update the firmware for the DSC-WX30? The B&W filter they have takes up to 5 seconds to process one image and the auto macro doesn’t turn on most of the time. Just standard B&W in the filter area would help and macro on/off in the settings area. I’m looking forward to the article 🙂

Great example of shallow DOF.
Steve, are you pulling our leg 🙂
Nice effect on the text! Can’t read it!
