  1. I used a Laxar to video some family footage, I am not able to get the footage it reads that the memory card is not able to read, the Camera is a Samsung

  2. Steve, thanks for sharing the info on $6.99 Lexar memory cards, appreciate it.
I ordered 4 today to replace small cards — they are good enough for my Fuji X100, Panasonic LX3 and Olympus E-P1.

  3. STEVE!

Your screenshot price of the lens is less than the price advertised when I click thru to the website. What’s up with that?

    • Maybe they raised it? Prices fluctuate all of the time by a bit. I see it daily at Amazon, so wouldn’t surprise me to see it go up or down at any given time.

  4. Thanks I purchased three. they will come in handy in a pinch. Data transfer, firmware updates, etc. And free shipping. You’re the Man! Got a X100 too. Loving it. I don’t know about Leica but this camera rocks. 5/14/12 Amazon purchase came with latest firmware update. cooool!

    Regards,
    Howard

  5. Lexar Platinum II cards are only class 4, I wouldn’t recommend them for anyone who shoots video or RAW files, unless you like waiting a long time for your buffer to clear.

The C-Sonnar is has a beautiful rendering, kind of classic but higher contrast. Steve’s review on it is bang on and for all those people who gripe about the focus shift, mine’s off at f/1.5 and most noticeable at minimum focus distance. My workaround is to focus normally, then lean towards my subject slightly. Works every time! Anyways, great lens for portraits, it can be very flattering.

    • They are not bad cards either. I bought 10 of them for myself due to the cost. They are great to have just to have them, and they work GREAT in any camera, especially older ones like the E-P1, E-P2, and many others. I am not “peddling” them, I am letting everyone know about them. You can make your own choice wether you want them or not. I do not force anyone to buy anything. I just think they are a great deal, so I posted it.

  6. At first blush the memory card seems a no brainer. But it’s not. If you buy four you’ve nearly spent enough to get a big fast one. Good for redundancy, not good for speed.

  7. Eleven hundred dollars for a lens?!!! That’s crazy; who would ever pay that?

    Oh?

    Never mind.

    • I’ve got one of these Zeiss sitting in my cupboard. I don’t really like it. I’d better pop it on eBay. Personally, I don’t understand all the fuss about this lens. And it’s got that horrible ostentatious chrome front. It’s got to go..

Now, that old Steinheil I bought for €60 ..now THAT’s a lens!
