Hi Steve,

Thanks for running a great site!

As well as wishing you a great year to come I wanted to thank you for the great info on your site and share some images taken with a Panasonic GF1 and my Leica M8.

I have read your site for ages and look forward to more. I started into photography about 3 years ago and have used micro 4/3 and finally just over a year ago managed to get a Leica M8. I use mostly Voigtlander lenses and am loving the experience. Thanks for all your hard work on the site and I wanted you to know that it is appreciated!

Perhaps you could post these on your daily Inspiration sometime?

The first is of my daughter in Northern Ireland with the Leica M8 and 40mm voigtlander f1.4

This second image was on a train in England taken with the Panasonic GF1 and 25mm Voigtlander f0.95. Amazing lens…

The third is in India, Leica M8 and 40mm Voigtlander f1.4

The last one was while street shooting in India, Leica M8 and 28mm Voigtlander f1.9

  3. Thanks for the feedback! Glad that you like the images. It has been great to come to discover photography quite recently and all of your comments are helpful! Post processing is such a personal thing and changes all the time. I loved my GF1 and micro 4/3 but the change to rangefinder has been the most rewarding decision. Much harder to capture my fast moving kids, but the fact that you get the shot fully manual is its own reward!! Especially at the speed my kids tend to move!

  9. I do not like the tonality in the colour pictures. It has that all-too-frequent Instagram feeling, the fake vintage touch that everyone seems to like a lot these days. Pity, because the shots are ok. Having the M8 myself and a few Voigtländer lenses too, I know that this is due to a post-processing choice.

    • You are ignorant if you think thats its a pity that his shots have some PP done. Photographers capture moments, and if a moment needs a touch or effect to better portray the feeling and mood, then by all means, PP away! I love the vintage mood! Keep up the artistic work! Experimentation has always been the reason behind progress.

  14. I agree, No. 2 is incredible but I like No. 1 just as much. It has a slightly gauzian effect that is so still and tender. A bit like Vermeer. Gorgeous.
