Daily Inspiration #452 by Joe Nattapol Suphawong

Hi Steve,

Greetings from Thailand!

I’m one of your fans from Bangkok who have been reading your blog many times a week. Thank you for the inspiration and all camera and lens reviews. I bought my first DSLR few years ago and shifted to Leica after reading your reviews J. I started with Leica X1, however, my life has changed when I bought the M9 because it makes me love everything about photography. I always go out taking pictures and have been traveling a lot more since then (I am a city guy who spend most of the time in front the computer screen and the Internet). My perception of seeing things had been totally changed. I love shooting life in urban city and rural area as well as street portraits especially kids.

I’m using M9 and S2 now and I really enjoy both systems. I use M9 for the street photo and S2 for the portrait, mostly. I would like to send you few images from my latest trip—Luang Prabang, Laos. All Black & White images are taken by M9 and Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 Asph and processed by Lightroom 5 and Silver Efex Pro. Two kid portrait photos are taken by S2 with Summarit-S 70mm. and processed by Lightroom 5 with VSCO preset with some modifications.

Hope you enjoy my photos. Thank you for the inspiration.

All the Best,

Joe Nattapol Suphawong

  1. Awesome! I’ve been following your work at the lfi gallery and you’ve so many great pictures, really impressive. Congratulations!

  2. Sawasdi Krab, Khun Joe.
Beautiful images. I lived in Thailand for three years while working with the Embassy and can say without hesitiation that the Thais are some of the nicest and most photogenic people on earth. Laos is also a wonderful, untouched place to photograph and meet great people.
I’ve recently sold all my Hasselblad gear and have a M240 on the way; your portraits are great and inspiring.
    Best regards,
    Bob

  3. Thank you so much for all of your comments. I’m very happy now and will try to improve my photography skills. Really thanks to Steve Huff’s site especially in the Daily Inspiration’s section. It’s very inspiring.

  4. You do faces well. I am a black and white kind of guys, but your colors blow me away. Beautiful work.

  5. K Joe, awesome shots, agree the B&W conversions are lovely, wish for a little more shadow details on the kids, just a little.
That said.. Im still amazed with the fashion of using filters after the fact to apply a “film look” to hugely detailed digital files.. they sell film at the local corner store. 😉

  6. Last picture was awesome. Your website also has lots of wonderful photos.
Do you bring your S2 and shoot street with it?

  7. Thanks for sharing those nice images. Would have loved to see more.
@Steve – did you limit the number of pictures ? I understand that there has to be a limit but 4 is a very small number.
