  1. Reading the link, trade in offers are at participating dealers only. So they get to decide that your Leica M10, which currently has a used value equal to new price (due to the demand and waiting list for that camera), is worth $2000 +$500 Sony cash. Instead of $7000.
    😉

All kidding aside.. a dealers trade in values are normally about 50% of what the used retail sale value would be. A Nikon D810 which you could get $1700 for privately, the dealer would sell that for $2200. Which means you’d get $1100 +$500 = $1600.
Which is not bad at all actually, just $100 less w/ theoretically none of the hassle of a private sale.

  2. Simple; If Sony offers you a trade in price for example $2000 they will add $500 on top making the trade in price of $2500. It not rocket science.

  3. I would imagine this would be better to do person. Is there a list of retailers that would honor this? I live in San Diego and unfortunately the 3 Sony stores we have had here, are closed.

  4. Sony will give you $500 on trading in your a7r mII! Well, I would gladly give you $700 for it! Now, that’s exciting!

  5. OKAY…all you Leica SL and M10 owners can finally trade in your cameras for $500 credit towards a Sony camera!

I wish they would let me trade in the Phase One and Hasselblad so I can “upgrade”.

  6. This is a joke, not a promotion. These “change” camera’s value are much higher than 500 dollars.

  7. I wish they included Mirrorless cameras like Olympus and Fuji. I have been thinking of moving from my Fuji set-up to Sony for a while now…

    • I think you can trade your Fuji with the a7/r/s II series since the specified models are for a9 only.
