My Fave Budget HiFi Gear
While I love the high end offerings in audio today I also enjoy budget gear when it performs to a higher level than what the price dictates. Also, we all have to start somewhere in this crazy hobby and this is a good launching point. I will add more as I find it. Below is a list of budget gear that sounds great. Gear I have used and tested. There are many budget items that come in that I pass on reviewing as a lot of it is not very good. Some of it is ; )
Eversolo DMP A6 Gen II Master Edition
Some may not see this as “budget” but when we see what it is then it is easier to swallow the price tag of $1600 (prices went up due to tariffs). This is a digital music streamer, a DAC and a preamp all in one. It does wonderfully driving an amplifier direct. The app is the best in the business for streaming and it streams everything. Even has a space for an SSD drive underneath.
You can buy one at Amazon, via prime, HERE.
Elac Debut 3 DB63 BookShelf Speakers
I reviewed these a while back and I still own a set that I use in a bedroom. At $450 they are remarkable and a great all around starter speaker that will not sound hollow or dead. A great speaker that has energy, drive, punch and focus.
You can buy a set at Amazon HERE.
Wiim Ultra and Vinelink Amp Stack. Wiim Seperates!
I’ve had a Wiim Ultra and Vibelink amp here for weeks and they make a fantastic combo. The Ultra is a streamer and DAC and Pre. The Vibelink is the power amp made to mate with the Ultra. Both are affordable and bring a full streaming system in two boxes. Just add speakers and cable.
My Fave $39 Speaker Cables
I think there have been about 2700+ of you who have purchased these with my links so many of you may already own a set but if not, you can snag a set for $39, These are copper cables, easy to maneuver and not some crazy audiophile cable but they sound sweet and very grain free for such a cheap set. I tested many up to $100 and chose these as my fave. I use these with my Elacs.
