Just came across a couple of “reviews’ of the Seattle workshop written by two of the attendees. The 1st one is by Todd Hatakeyama who wrote a very cool post with images about his experience in Seattle. You can see that one HERE.

The other post was written by Randall Kelley that you can see HERE! One I already posted was by Ashwin Rao who posted his favorite shots HERE.

The next workshop dates should be announced soon. As mentioned, I am thinking Chicago, Anaheim, and San Francisco for the next three!

I am in Chicago right now as I type this on vacation and may pop into the Leica Acadamie workshop on Saturday :)

  1. Anaheim is right around the corner from me. Is this like the Olympic selection committee? Do I need to pitch my city and slip a few a million under the table to get the nod;)

  2. I read Todd post, is the sensor crack that common? I’m thinking about getting a used M8 in the next couple of months, but am worried about dropping 2.3K on used gear. Will leica still repair gear bought second hand?

    Thanks!

    Josh

  3. Steve, Chicago in late May would be awesome! I’m planning to travel to NYC in May, so I could combine that with attending your workshop, should you decide to organzie one in May!

  4. please come to SF!

  5. Todd, you picture of the girl with her back to you and the fountain in the background was just superb. Could have a place in any gallery in my opinon. Really nicely put together. I particularly like it when a shot is taken in a way that captures a well worn subject in a different way but is not so off beat that it makes no sense. Nice.

  6. Will be at the Akadamie Saturday, look forward to seeing you!

  7. Josh, Leica will certainly repair used gears if you face any issue, however if not under waranty, you’ll have to pay for it ;)

  8. Josh, why not wait a bit and get the Sony NEX 7 instead of the M8? Superior sensor, EVF, video (for those who like that sort of thing), and the ability to reduce the minimum focus distance to .3-.5m on all M mount lenses with a helicoid adapter. Oh, and you save $1000, which you can spend on a nice ZM 50/1.5 whose focus shift won’t matter on the NEX.

  9. Anaheim would be a great place for the next workshop. You can draw people from Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino and Riverside as well as LA county. Anaheim is centrally located.

  10. What about Boston?!
