Dear Steve,
I have been visiting Berlin two weeks ago, amazing city! All fotos where shot with a SONY Nex 5n.
When you come to Berlin have a walk in the area of “Prenzlauer Berg”, I’m shure you’ll find some inspiration too.
First foto: SONY Nex 5n, E18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, ISO 200, 49mm, f/5, 1/80 and Silver Efex Pro2
Second foto: SONY Nex 5n, E18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, ISO 100, 36mm, f/11, 1/100 and Silver Efex Pro2
Third foto: SONY Nex 5n, E18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, ISO 100, 18mm, f/4,5, 1/180 and Silver Efex Pro2
Best regards
Adrian
It does work with PS Elements 8.0
looks like added “structure” in silver efex.
Always appreciate seeing the 5-N used in different ways and contexts. Really enjoyed these pictures, hope to see Berlin one day. Thanks!
Nope…it does´t work with PS Elements.

Silver efex pro 2 is a plug in. it works with Photoshop, lightroom, or aperture. It might work with elements but don’t quote me on that.
Thanks all for sharing and your nice words! I’ve send the colored ones to Steve, maybe he will add them.
Many regards!
Hi Adrian,
Wonderful pictures. I’m always impressed when a good eye is combined with contrasty B&W shots.
I wanted to ask – is Silver Efex Pro 2 a plug in or is it a standalone software package?
Nope, I prefer the b&w for its graphic nature along with the various textures in the images. ‘Course I am partial to b&w images and my website shows it….
Two and three need colour; really. Nice B&W Adrian
nice images!
very nice
i loved Berlin
Adrian, great shots…especially the last one! What an incredible spot….looks like there would be a tonne of photo ops.
Adrian, thank you for sharing these awesome street art images! I really like them and you capture it very beautiful!!
Agreed! These need colour.
I had quite a few beers rather around the corner from the middle picture, I forget the exact name… but such an easy chill place to enjoy, so I did. East Berlin has that spirit all over the place…
Pictures that bring back memories… intentions well accomplished, Adrian 🙂
i was just about to write that too. i would love to see some color.
I did not used HDR, just did some correction with Aperture and then I made the finish with Silver efex.
I also love the colored ones, but I loved in Berlin especially this kind of contrast and reduction.
It doesn’t look like HDR to me. I own a 5n and it’s quite capable of producing stunning B&W images like these, converted from raw.
For my tastes, B/W works best with shape, form and contrast. Here, I feel these images simply cry out for colour. IMHO.
I would add “Kreutzberg” and “Friedrichshain” to the must-see-and-photograph places!
And if you have more time, there’s tons of urbex to do as well ( http://www.leerstandsmelder.de/berlin )
Anyway I guess you won’t have time to get bored there ^^
Very nice B&W images, am I correct that some HDR was used ? If yes, well done if no then even better
