HiFi Huff. The Best HiFi Products via Amazon Prime.
I get asked a few times per week via email what I recommend that is affordable and preferably available at Amazon. I guess many have prime accounts and are looking to see what is on offer at the biggest shop on the planet. Well, I do not want to be a bummer but there are not too many truly great products on amazon but there are a few. I have tried so many of these over the years from cheap $99 DACs to $999 DACs. I have tested streamers and amps from solid state to tube as well as accessories.
These are the best I have found on Amazon to date and get my stamp of approval
1. WiiM Ultra Amp – $529 for a streamer, DAC and amp all in one with a glass touch screen and voice remote. This one is IMO one of the best products ever made for audio. Not because it is the best there is but because it’s the best for what it costs and then some. The WiiM Amp Ultra allows almost anyone to get intro HiFi as it is so affordable yet so good. 2. The FiiO Warmer DAC – This is an R2R DAC with a tube buffer that is also fully differential and balanced. All for $349 and it also features big yellow VU meters that flow with the music. Being balanced, tube base and very nice in construction makes this a STEAL if you love a warm rich sound from your music. This DAC brings the warmth. Buy it at Amazon HERE.
3. Triangle Borea BR04 Speakers – These are $649 and fantastic speakers for a small to mid sized room. These also pair well with the WiiM Ultra above as well as the Warmer DAC if going to a separate amp. These are not hard to drive and are 90DB efficient. Bass is much better than you would expect from a speaker of this size and the fit and finish is fantastic for this price point. Better than usual. The sound is alive, with some warmth and beauty as well. Not dull or warm but not bright or harsh. You can buy them at Amazon HERE.
4. Oilily 300 B. Integrated Amp Version 2. I reviewed the V1 a while back and loved it for its affordable price and superb performance. To be honest I prefer the performance of this one to a $7k 300B amp. It’s a winner and a rare find at such an affordable price. Sometimes hard to find on Amazon as they usually offer up 2-3 units at a time so if you see one, and want a 300B amp, snag it! This one has the true and beautiful sound of 300B. A must is to own easy too drive speakers as this puts out just 10 watts so you will need 92DB efficient speakers and a small to medium room to get the most from this amp. When you do you will experience a full bodied and soulful sweet sound of a SET amp. It’s also striking in looks and comes with a cage you can use or choose not to use. Buy it at Amazon HERE.
5. Everoslo A6 II ME Streamer and DAC – This one is the starter piece in the Eversolo lineup of streamers and yet it is fantastic in operation and sound. If you seek a streamer and DAC in one box, Eversolo has been leading the way when it comes to features and affordability. They are built and made very well and cost thousands less than the high end brands. I love the A6II Master Edition and you can get it at Amazon via Prime HERE. This one is different from the WiiM Ultra amp at teh top as this one doesn’t have an amp but it does have an even better streamer and DAC.
