Nik Software Complete Collection – Now only $149!

Hello to all! Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday wherever you are in the world. Today I was sent an email alerting me to this great deal on Nik filters and software. We can now buy the entire collection of filters for $149 (used to be $499) thanks to Google..here is what Google said about this deal:

The Nik Collection by Google: photography first, for professionals and more

Here on the Google+ Photos team, we’re busy building tools for all kinds of photographers. Today, and for all the professionals out there, we’re bundling the complete set of Nik plug-ins as the Nik Collection by Google. We’re especially excited about three things:

1) It’s more affordable. The entire set of plug-ins for Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture only costs $149 (versus the previous $499).

2) It’s really powerful. The Nik Collection by Google gives you tools for everything from noise reduction and HDR imaging to creative effects and image sharpening (and lots more).

3) It’s free to try. You can visit niksoftware.com for a 15-day free trial of the Collection.

If you’ve already purchased one or more Nik plug-ins in the past, then don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In fact: we’re going to upgrade you to the entire Nik Collection by Google for free. Just keep an eye out for emailed instructions in the next few days.

Once you’ve got a Nik Collection shot that you’re excited about, feel free to share it with the Google+ community. Simply tag your public pictures with #nikcollection , and we’ll reshare some favorites from the +Google+ page. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

You can download a 15 day trial or buy but at $149 this is a steal of a deal as you get ALL filters and plug ins:

Nik plug ins are known as some of the best filter effects and tools you can buy. I highly suggest trying out the demo (if you do not already have these plug ins). Great stuff.

  1. Hi what does this mean after i put in the code “David Ziser Promo (Excludes 3rd party products & specials)”

  2. Can anybody tell my what I did wrong?
I download the Collection after payment but it didn’t exist in my CS3 Version 10.0.
Must I install it in the photoshop program?
    Thxs for help!

  3. Is this deal for download only? How many computer can it be on? After the trial– is there another option besides download?

  5. Mud bogging, also called mud racing or mud drags, is a popular form of off-road four-wheel drive truck racing. A long narrow pit of slippery mud is prepared beforehand for the trucks to plough through. There are different types and lengths of mud bog tracks; most are flat, while some have hills and holes. The winner is determined by the distance traveled or by times if the full length is covered.

  6. FYI- I bought SilverEfex less than 2 months ago & called Nix Software/google and told them I paid over $200 for silver efex and now the offer is for $149 for all products? So as a response- they gave me the opportunity to upgrade to all products! Which I did and downloaded all products… very cool…

  7. My silver efx2 disappeared when I loaded the trial package. All gone. My hdr efex 2 seems to be ok. It should not have had any effect on my existing software as it was a new directory it made. Now I have to find the numbers and reinstall.

  8. @Peter Banyard – it works out at £86 after the discount in post 1. I’m in the UK and paid via Paypal and it all went through fine. Hope this helps!

  9. How do I find out the price for UK? The Nik site doesn’t offer this facility (at least not on my computer).

  10. i bought the software a few weeks ago and I did receive that email. What a great surprise, I had just bought CS6 and now I also have all the plugins for Photoshop. Great deal and probably one of the few times in my life I actually got a free upgrade. Usually I’m the guy who buys things and they’d go on sale the week after or so, lol. So keep your eyes open for that email, so worth it

  11. Does anybody know what edition of Color Efex Pro 4 is included? There are two editions: “Color Efex Pro 4 Select Edition” and “Color Efex Pro 4 Complete Edition”. One has 26 filters the other one has 55.

  12. Awesome find Steve. And thanks for the coupon code jack. I’ve been meaning to try Silver for a while now and now I have all the plugins. I really appreciate how much the price of photo editing software has dropped over the past few years.

  13. Supreme! I have been wanting the Complete Collection for a while. This is a phenomenol price plus I got a NAPP member discount. $126.25 (plus TX sales tax, of course). A great bargain. Can’t wait to download.

Thanks for the heads up Steve!

  14. Hi everyone, do you think this offer is valid for Belgium, because I purchased Color efex pro à few weeks ago but did not received any email from Nik Software. Thanks.

    • My information is that this offer is worldwide. Current users of NIK Software plugins will be informed by email in the next days. Maybe you can speed up this process by contacting NIK directly.

  15. This is a very very nice company. I just owned Silver Efex Pro 2. They sent me an email, would like our whole set of software, for free. I load it down and it all works well. Maybe they are upgrading. Even if the are, what generous gesture.

    • Hey, I just bought Silver Efex Pro 2 a mont or so ago. The sent me an email and I got all the software for free! Maybe you too maybe able to get it for free or ??

  16. I would get it in a spin, but according to specs my Photoshop CS3 is too old to work properly with the current Nik software package.

    • I have CS3 V10.0 and it works just fine. I run it on an old Mac 2.0G Duo Core.

  17. Thanks for the heads-up on this. I trialled Dfine2 a while ago, and thought it was good but expensive. This deal makes the entire collection a bargain, so I’ve just ordered.

Thanks also to Jack (post 1) for the discount code….

  18. I originally had some of the plug-ins only for Aperture. As mentioned by a previous poster the free update installed the entire plug-in suite for both my Aperture and Photoshop. However I don’t think anyone mentioned this before, but the new installation also created a folder in my Mac’s application folder called “Nik Collection” which contains all the plug-ins as standalone apps. Therefore if you do not have Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture, you can now use these plug-ins by simply dropping the image into the specific Nik app! Very cool!

    • How right you are! I got my Google email yesterday with the link. Already downloaded and installed. I had been putting off purchasing Silver Efex Pro. Boy, am I glad I did. Now I can afford a nice half case for the X100S I have on pre-order.

    • Do we know if the Nik Collection components will ALSO run on Windows as standalone programs? I currently use Color Efex Pro and HDR Efex Pro as standalone programs, and don’t want to “lose” them by installing the Nik Collection, as i do not own or use PS or LR.

i am excited to be getting the other pieces of Nik software!

      • Alle the plug.ins work as stand-alone applications on my Windows 7 (64 bit) system.
The plug-ins may be found in this folder C:\Program Files\Google\Nik Collection. My only host application is Lightroom 4.x

    • UPDATE:

      in case anyone is wondering…

I installed the Nik Collection today on my Win 7 machine. It did overwrite my existing HDR Efex Pro 2 and Color Efex Pro 4, but all my customs were intact.

AND all the components will run as 32-bit standalone programs by simply dragging the image (TIFF or JPEG) you want to edit onto a desktop shortcut icon for the component .exe. (the 64-bit versions are only present as .8bf files, so those only work as plugins as far as i can tell). i do not use PS or LR, so standalone use was critical.

very psyched, and thanks to Google (and Nik!)

Hope everyone else has similar good experience.

  19. I have Silver EfEx Pro 2 but it isn’t currently installed on my machine. I assume once I install it again I’ll get the email to upgrade to the full collection for free?

  20. Thank you for the coupon code, Jack! I downloaded yesterday but decided to buy at that price. 🙂

  21. I already had Silver Efex Pro so was able to download and install the entire NIK suite of plug-ins for free – a heck of a deal! This does make me wonder what Google intends to do with all of these plug-ins going forward.

    • I also have this software I bought not long ago at $ 199. How can I upgrade for free as you did ??? can you give me a tip ……

      • Did you register your original purchase with NIK? I had a registered copy of Silver Efex and consequently received an email from Google with a link to downolad the entire suite.

I checked the email again so see if there was link that I would be able to post here but unfortunately the Mac or Windows download buttons take the user directly to a download without displaying any URL in the address field.

Perhaps someone else may may have a link.

  22. What is the Difference between NIK software and Efex Pro?
Both are like Photoshop isn’t it?

    • NIK Software = the maker
Efex Pro = part of the name of some of their software titles, which give visual effects and filters to images
Photoshop = a full editing tool for your images, which can utilize plugins like Silver Efex Pro

  23. Wow! Thanks Steve and commenters for the great tips on a great price. I have been wanting these filters and am going to purchase now!

    Again, thanks.

  24. It is a stroke of corporate genius by Google, wiping out the opposition and making the Nik Suite almost as ubiquitous as the word ‘Adobe’ for any photographer. World domination was never so cleverly achieved.

    Steve

    • It was a dumb move. I had the entire NIK collection before google bought them out and for weeks after sat sctarching my head wondering why google bought them out. Wondring if functinallity has been crippled or features removed-that’s a huge price drop. In any event, I now will kiss my NIK goodbye and start adding to my Topaz filters as I don’t see anything that’s improived and they’ve not upgraded the,mThis just looks ,like teh end of the line. For me, it IS the end of the line, because I can’t upgrade without setting up Google Wallet and I’d sooner hand my CC’s to a stranger on the street if I have to do that. WHY does google have to keep this stuff, why can’t we just buy like at any other site? Thanks NIK…if I knew you were going to sell out to a search engine, I’d have gone with your competition-Topaz and On One. For all the good technology does, it does a handful of relaly stupid things. What does a search engine know about photography? This was a really hinky buy-out.

  25. I hope this is not a bad sign in the sense that Google stops further development efforts of these products.

    • I hope not to, but I think Google are being very clever by reducing the price and making it available for a very much larger audience. I really rate the NIK software, it speeds up my work flow no end

    • I’m concerned about that – but also the effect this will have on the makers of competing products, who can’t afford to just 1/4 the price of their software.

      • i think its just the Tip of the Iceberg on what is coming in the future. Look at what Adobe Photoshop (uproar from users) has created with yearly fees. With Nik and Topazlabs we can now go elsewhere to use plugins, instead of PS. Adobe see NIK AND TOPAZ as taking $$$ away from them. Think about it, why isn’t Adobe successful and developing their own plug in for their PS? I expect they will be soon. Many are not subscribing to PS charges and will seek other software, especially if you just use PS for Raw, simple editing etc etc

  26. Incredible bargain! I purchased a Nik suite in February for Lightroom, I got an email yesterday saying that I would receive a $171 refund. In the email was a download link for a new installer and the plug-ins now works for Photoshop and Lightroom. I’m really happy about that.

Sad news is, more people will have access to these capabilities, making many of our photos similar in look. ..potentially anyway. Need to step up my creativity game.
    Enjoy!

  27. I am primarily interested in the Silver Effex for B&W conversions. But what is it exactly it does? Is it more streamlined tools to do what you can do already, but more “manually”, in Lightroom?

    • Short answer YES, but try it free for 15 days. I use also Topazlabs.com BW and they have free upgrades, been using it for 5 yrs now. It also has a 30 day free trial. Try them both to see if it fits your needs. Both save lots of time

  28. Hey all,
Coupon code “DZISER” cuts it to $126.65. That’s $372 off list… Half of the education price.
