Great Camera, Great price, Amazing Gift Idea – Panasonic LF1
Hey guys! Happy Saturday! I hope everyone here is enjoying their weekend, I know I am 🙂 It’s Saturday and I am heading out to Yuma, AZ to shoot some at the old Territorial Prison. Bringing a couple of cameras…The Rolleiflex Hy6 and the Sigma DP Quattro (still enjoying it). My review for the Hy6 should be up next week sometime. I have only used it with film so expect a Film Friday review 🙂 It’s one hell of a Medium Format camera and a JOY to use.
With all of that out-of-the-way I wanted to point the attention to a great camera at a GREAT price! I am buying one of these for my Mother for her Birthday (she is aware of it so I did not ruin the surprise) as I tested the Leica version, which is the same exact camera, and I loved it. You can see that little mini review HERE. The Panasonic LF1 is the same exact camera as the Leica C but it comes in at a MUCH MUCH lower price. It has a built-in Electronic Viewfinder, is fast and small and provides very nice image quality. I loved the shots I snapped with the C, so the LF1 is a no brainer for someone who wants a new P&S camera of high quality without breaking the bank.
There is a deal on Amazon right now (through Prime) that will get you a Panasonic LF1, an 8GN Memory Card, a tabletop tripod and a memory card reader, all for $279. This is a GREAT buy and you can see it or order it HERE. As of this writing there are 8 left (I just bought the one for my Mom right now) and I can highly recommend this camera for anyone who wants a small, pocketable, fast and discreet high quality P&S with an EVF for under $300. The zoom equals a 28-200 so it is in the super zoom category for such a small camera. Also shoots 1080 video and has wifi built in. Quite the punch for $279.
So check it out at Amazon if you are in the market for a small HQ camera! The Leica C is the SAME camera with a different outer shell (made by Panasonic) but comes in at $699. You can see that HERE. You do not get the extras but you do get a better/longer warranty and Adobe Lightroom software included.

Whilst I agree with all said above …. for about £20 more you could buy the Sony RX100 [mark 1 – still a great camera]. Maybe the viewfinder is the clincher, but I would find it hard to decide. Your thoughts?
At eglobalcentral.eu they sell the LF1 for €176. A white LX7 costs €226. A GM1 (black & metal) €400.
The have many cheap Fujifilm cameras and other brands too. I am wondering how this is possible.
