Daily Inspiration #20 by Daniele Zedda

Today’s pic is by Daniele Zedda and here is the description of the photo as it was sent to me:

This pic I took on my recent trip in NYC, was the first snow in the city this year. Walking around the silent city during the snowstorm was such an incredible experience… I was shooting a 5DmkII with a sigma 20mm 1.8 lens on it (awesome awesome underrated lens), camera and lens held up with the snow great, also got rained on couple days after. Anyway, I was on my way to grand central and I grabbed this shot of people running into the terminal for cover. I processed the pic in photoshop using just curves and black and white conversion.”

You can see more at Daniele’s awesome Flikr page HERE. Thanks for the great pic!

  1. Very nice capture, B/W is perfect here, this photo gives the appearance of being ageless, it could have been taken 40 or 50 years ago because nothing reflects the present, one automobile would have changed that.

  2. Congratulations to Daniele for a great capture. There is no such thing as bad weather… or something like that. 🙂

  3. This reminds me of a scene in the movie “The day after tomorrow”, where crowds of people flee from the giant waves rolling over NYC and hide inside a huge public library. Very nice shot, and very good timing.

(I always wonder if shots like this are mere ‘coincidence’, i. e. that the photographer just happened to be in the right place at the right time, or if there is some kind of craftwork or secret knowledge involved …)
