Beauties of Nature premium 3 day Workshop opportunity

April 4th – April 7th 2014 – $200 discount for readers!

Hello to all and happy Monday! It is a beautiful day here in Phx AZ with some warmth and sunshine so that always makes me smile. For those that want some of that warmth and sunshine I wanted to tell you about a workshop a friend of mine is putting on in April, and it is a big one.

My Friend Todd Hatakeyama, the guy who helped and organized my Valley of Fire workshop and the guy who Organized and set up my “Photo Cruise” is putting on a massive workshop that is aimed at helping anyone who wants to get into portrait, fashion as well as learn all about LIGHTING. They have lined up some amazing speakers and models, male and female, and will be holding it at a huge 8 acre estate in the Wildlife area of San Diego California where the weather will be just as beautiful as the models that will be on hand. This is a true “Workshop” so be prepared to WORK.

Here is a blurb from the Beauties of Nature workshop page:

“Come join us for an all-inclusive weekend of photography, celebrity models, food, wine, and fun on an 8-acre ranch in the Wildlife area of San Diego, California. Learn how to shoot spectacular high-fashion models in an outdoor setting with studio strobes and natural light. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to photograph dazzling women in an extraordinary environment. The Beauties of Nature await you!”

They have a video from their last workshop that you can checkout below:

  1. Guys, you totally missed the point of my post.

I didn’t say the models were unattractive and neither did anyone else. I said that they don’t look natural with all these layers of make-up etc. and hence the title for the workshop is misleading. Whether I, you or a majority of people likes this mannequin, fashion style is a question that I didn’t give an opinion about.

But I understand that you, guys being guys, were probably too distracted by the half-naked woman on the page to note that … 😉

    • Martin, you wrote that the models were “not … natural”, “unhealthily thin”, and lacking “natural beauty”. Admittedly, some of us are a little slow, but now we get it. That’s just your way of commenting on how attractive they really are.

  2. I would have loved it if they actually mic’ed the talent instead of using the built-in microphone on the camera. They obviously took the time to light and compose the interviews… could they not throw a lav on or even a shotgun mic on a boom? Bad sound quality screams lack of caring.

  3. Miss Logsdon in the photo above does not look natural to me and unhealthily thin. Actually, in my perception all the people in the video show natural beauty except for the models. “Beauties of Nature” is a strange title choice for such a shooting.

Don’t get me wrong though – I don’t mean to decry the models. I’m sure they have natural beauty inside, it’s just that I can’t see it through layers of make-up and malnutrition is not natural either.
