  1. Just an update that is VERY cool. Whoever bought this lens, did so from my link so I got the credit! Yea! This commission will pay for next months hosting 🙂 Whoever bought it, I THANK YOU!

  2. Hey Steve and Leica Enthusiasts,
I was in Service Photo in Baltimore, MD today, and they have one 50mm 0.95 Noctilux in stock. If you are interested their phone number is 1-800-344-3776. I know these are very difficult to get, so I just wanted to let people know! Of course I could not have a look at it, but I was very surprised to see that they had one on the shelf.

  3. Unreal. Surely is a rare beast and even though we are in a tough economy, there are certainly enough enthusiasts out there with 10K to spend on a lens. This certainly falls in the realm of collecting because, let’s face it, how many people out there can look at a picture of .95 Noctilux shot @ f2 and discern it from a classic Nocti, Summicron, or even a Summitar? I’m talking about real world pictures, and not looking at curves or under a microscope.

In fact, over the next few weeks, I will wrap up an article tentatively called “The Battle of the 50s”. I have been shooting with the M9 and 50mm Elmar 3.5, Summar, Summarit, Summicron, Summilux and Noctilux f1..and possibly will throw the 50 Planar and Voigtlander Nokton as ringers. It will be what we call in the wine world a “single blind tasting” where the pictures will be analyzed by knowing the lenses in the lineup but NOT knowing (until later revealed) which lens was used on each shot. Should be fun!
