I just wanted to thank you again for providing a great website. I originally found your site when I was searching for a small point and shoot camera to take on a major hiking trip. Your Ricoh GRD III review sealed the deal for me and from then on I began following your website.
Subsequently, I’ve purchased the Ricoh GXR with the A12 28mm lens and that has become my primary camera. My DSLR is getting very lonely these days. Again, your review of the GXR helped me a great deal in making my decision.
Since using my Ricoh cameras, I can’t explain it very well, but for some reason they have pulled whatever creativity I may have to the forefront. I’m seeing things much differently now than I ever did with my big clunky SLR camera. Maybe its the fixed lens which has forced me to think more before pressing the shutter, or that the Ricoh camera system just gets out of the way.
But what I can say, is that my passion for my photography hobby has been pushed to the forefront since finding your website and seeing what others are doing with their cameras.
I wanted to especially write to you today as its now official and an image I submitted to Ricoh’s 11th Annual Photo Contest has been selected for one of their Performance Awards and will be displayed in the company’s 2012 Calendar for the month of August.

I still can’t believe this has happened to me. I would never have imagined just a short 6 months ago that this was possible. I’ve attached an image of a shot I took this past week while with my wife visiting the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC near where we live. We spent a couple days in a hotel away from home to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary and she allowed me to bring my camera and take some photos along the way. Here’s my Daily Inspiration Pic for your review. Thanks again for doing what you do!
super!!
First, thank you Steve for posting my image for your “Daily Inspiration” and the service you’re providing with this website. Secondly, I want to thank all of you that left such nice comments about my image. I can honestly say that Steve has helped motivate and challenge me to take my photography to the next step.
I’ve started my own blog and finally used my domain name, which I’ve had for several years now, to put up some of my past images in a portfolio format.

Simply stunning, congratulations on the award. Seems to me the rule of thirds did help the composition š
